Alyaev Yuri Gennadievich

Alyaev Yuri Gennadievich is a Professor at the Institute for Urology and Reproductive Health, Chairman of the Russian Society of Urology, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a well-known scientist among urologists.

Professor Alyaev's research is dedicated to various urological topics. He has over 650 articles published in Russian and foreign periodicals.

He introduced the clinic to almost every modern endoscopic minimally invasive technique and cutting edge diagnostic method (from molecular to virtual). They are actively being employed to detect and treat a wide range of disorders.

He pioneered 3D-modeling of affected genitourinary organs and developed novel resection techniques and surgical management of complex cases of spread kidney tumors. His innovations include a means of tumor thrombus removal from the inferior vena cava, complex surgeries aimed at removal of kidney in combination with liver and pancreas resection, partial or complete lung removal, etc.

Yuri Alyaev's vast clinical experience led him and his students to coin a new term, liquid lesions of the kidney. He classified them into groups and developed diagnostic algorithms and management strategies.

Professor Alyaev has six patented diagnostic techniques and treatment options: An approach during kidney surgery, Doppler ultrasonography of the prostate, Chronic prostatitis treatment, Semen quality improvement technique, A diagnostic technique for vasculogenic erectile dysfunction and In vivo assessment of kidney stone composition.

Apart from his scientific, academic and clinical endeavors, Yuri Alyaev is actively involved in public work. He is a Corresponding Member of the International Council on Urology and Nephrology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Russian Society of Urology.
