A well-known urologist, a student of the outstanding Russian surgeon Yuri Antonovich Pytel. In 1979, he graduated with honors from the First Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, then completed a clinical residency at the Department of Urology.

Professor Rapoport's scientific activity is devoted to the development of endourology, treatment and prevention of oncological diseases, urolithiasis. He was engaged in the introduction and development of the method of remote shock wave lithotripsy in our country.

He analyzed the complications that arise and proposed effective measures for their prevention, based on calculating the number of high-energy pulses and therapy for the removal of stone fragments.

Performs a wide range of urological operations, including robot-assisted aids for the removal of cancerous tumors of the prostate and kidney using the surgical system "Da Vinci Si Surgical System".

He is the author of 10 monographs, 455 scientific papers, 8 inventions, textbooks and clinical recommendations for doctors and patients. Scientific supervisor of 11 PhD theses and doctoral dissertations.

He is a member of the American and European Association of Urologists, dissertation councils of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and A.I. Evdokimov Moscow State Medical University, an expert of the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia, a member of the editorial board of the journal Andrology and Genital Surgery.
